Asking cause i bought a video card and it looks like it wouldnt work with my laptop.|||It's a world of difference. They are not interchangeable. The GPU (graphics processing unit) of a laptop is built into the mobo.
Cheap desktops have built in video but most have an AGP or PCI-E slot to allow a separate video card to be installed.
The add in video cards can range in size also....it sounds like the card you have is not a very powerful one because of the small size you describe.|||you are limited to laptop cards, but desktop cards can go up as high as you want, desktop cards are also alot better.|||most if not all laptop video cards are integrated into the mother board. Some desktop's video cards come integrated as well but the mother board of a desktop usually has an expansion slot for you to buy a video card and pop it in. So in short, laptop video cards are in there for good and you can forget about upgrading it or taking it out and desktops allows you to upgrade them. Other than that, the video cards do the same thing.|||you cannot change the video card on a laptop one that works in your desktop will not work in your laptop ....|||Size!!!
